The price may look steep now, but a deep playoff run and wise drafting in 2007 will make it all worthwhile. Good luck Barberio, to a future star in the league!

Good call Robeye, it is ridiculous that we don't have 4000 fans per night in the seats. Lets pour on the support and show this team how much they are appreciated!!!

Nice to get a star d-man but what a steep price to pay for a rental. And what else do we have to give Moncton in June when they return our 1st round pick. Too high of a price, Barberio would develop into a star in this league.

bourdon is argueably the best "D" man in the league, barberio is going to be a real solid player but this is our year to make a strong push for the league title, hats off to pascal.

This looks like a great trade. We def needed some depth on D. We've been doing so-so on D this year, but with injuries we saw the need for some extra bodies. I also think Bourdon will bring some mobility on the backend. We have 2 good offensive D in Saywer and Bartulis, but defensively I have noticed that our D can sometimes get beat 1-on-1, any winger with a bit of speed doesn't really have a hard time going wide on the our current D.

that is defenatly great but, why give away suuch a yound defence men ? i dont understand that, but it is awesome.

Hopefully this won't ruin the chemistry, adding a new number 1 D man. Sawyer and Bartulis are both going to have their game affected as well as everyone else on down the defence position.

Barberio is a future number 1 man and we could have kept him for years.

Expensive trade , hope it works out

If we don't at least win our division this year it is going to be awfully hard to go to C200 and watch Barbario play with Moncton 4 or 5 times a year for the next 3 or 4 years.

Bourdon is a tremendous addition...now, however, I think for this to be considered a good deal we need to at least win our division!

If we don't it is going to be painful to watch Barbario come back to haunt us over and over again for the next few years because he is going to be a star in this League too!

Personally, not a trade I would make but I understand it completely. This is a team that has an excellent chance of making the league finals. And the others, Lewiston and Val'dor, have made the changes they needed to make. Eagles had a defensive core that is talented but largely inexperienced and often unhealthy. They really did need this trade for a run this year.

When I said it wasn't something I wouldn't do, I speak as a multiseat season ticket holder who would like to see possibily 4 years of watching Mark Barberio develope into one of the league's best D in Cape Breton rather then Moncton.

3 months vs. 3 years, who's to say !!! Pascal hasn't made a bad deal since the Lassard trade. I'll give him the benefit out the doubt.

Bourdon will definetley be an asset, but at a steep cost. Barberio made a contribution to the team every night as a standout rookie. He will be a premiere defenceman in the league for years to come. The price was high.

Hopefully, everyone on the team buys into this , and accepts their new role (probably diminished roles) as Bourdon steps in. Egos must be checked at the door in order to have a great playoff run. We'll see what Pascal can do with it..

Bourdon is great , but we will see in the playoffs if the price was truly too high

I hope Bourdon is a team player. If so welcome aboard. I thought they would have to give up a lot more to get him,... hopefully no future stars in the spring. We're going for it this year...good to see. We've waited a long time for this. Great 10th anniversary present. Airfare to Vancouver is????

This has the makings of a good thing but only if they make it to the Memorial Cup. Now the pressure is on Pascal Vincent to gel this team. I hope he does a better job getting this team ready for the run than the last team. We still cannot put that last Chicoutimi disaster behind us. Good luck EAGLES. I am sure you wont disappoint this time.

P.S.
There better be no more surprises come draft time. I think Barberio and Stoddard is enough of a loss.

I think its great that Bourdon is an eagle but what a cost to pay for a player. It is no secret that Bourdon is a rental and will spend 3 months in Cape Breton. Barberio is a player that we could have seen develope and star in this league for 4-5 years. This young man is truly going to be a star in the next year or two. My main hope is that Barberio and the wildcats dont come back to haunt the eagles in years to come. It has happenned before and you just never know. Lets hope this year is a good one becasue losing Barberio is Huge!!!
